broadband booster for beginner;-)

hey guys

we have been having a problem with the distance of our wireless broadband, we live in a fairly large house (with quite thick walls) we have only one wireless box attempting to broadcast to the whole house, however this broadcast barely gets 15 foot when put in the office, when in the kitchen the range is much better, supplying 80% of the house but is of no use when you want to work in the office as it cant get into it. We still have an old wireless broadcaster is there anyway that i can boost the signal through this?

Better to get a contractor in and run LAN cables throughout the house.
