    Question Hardware recommendations?

Hi everyone. I'm looking to buy a new router, as I currently have a garbage Linksys that chokes high data flow and limits the amount of open connections I can have without temporary drops in send/receive.

I'm looking for suggestions on what kind of router and switch to buy. I use both a router and switch right now to help in handling the high volume of data. It has helped to some extent, but I'm still getting these temporary drops in send/receive, which are extremely irritating. I run several high traffic applications, and have 4 machines running almost constantly. Any advice would be appreciated. Oh, I should also mention, I'm not looking for wireless.

    Thanks!

DLinks DIR-655 is one of the performing home grade routers currently..as well as their DGL-4500 model.

Thanks for the suggestion and performance charts. After much debate I ended up going with the DGL-4100, as I don't use wireless and didn't think the extra cost for the newer 4500 was worth it for me. Will probably post again once it arrives for some help with config and tcp/ip settings Thanks again!

Got the router today and it is flying like an absolute dream. Haven't bothered with firmware update since I run XP not Vista, and it is working brilliantly. Thanks again
