    What's a good Spybot S&D alternative?

Now don't get me wrong here, Spybot is an awesome program, it works wonders but recently, for some strange reason it's been doing this on every computer I install it on, XP and Vista, Laptops and Desktops, Old and New.

I install spybot, it takes a very long time to load up, then I update then after update it crashes then I have to end the process then I start it up again which once again takes a long time to load up.

So because of that I'm looking for a good FREE alternative to Spybot S&D, any suggestions?

Don't use the tea timer feature or the secure shredder option and SpyBot works perfect on any install, remember for Vista it has to be installed and run as the Admin. Other good freebies are SUPERAntiSpyware as suggested and Windows Defender.

I don't have TeaTimer installed, that's extremely annoying, I get like a pop up every few seconds, it made me want to throw the computer out the window.

Anyways, yeah, even without TeaTimer installed, or the secure Shredder option it still boots up extremely slow.

    Yeah www.superantispyware.com
I still use Spybot S&D, but not as my primary tool...it's not as effective anymore..but still "OK" to run as a 3rd or 4th tool.
AVG AS is another good tool to run on infected machines, although the freebie is just a trial..install, update, run a few scans, remove when done.

I use superantispyware too... I usually setup Avast as well with it fully updated first then set it for a boot scan/remove. I scan with superantispyware and then if its infected with anything memory related it will ask for reboot so upon that avast will kick in and get the rest. Works like a charm.
