My Root Canal just fell out..

This has not been a good weekend...

I had a root canal down on my left bottom tooth.. I had it done years ago...
The dentist at the time, said I didn't need a crown of the tooth.. which in reality should have..
Now tonight, the steel post just fell out. I have a large hole in jaw, with a bit of the original tooth shell.
I do have a new dentist, and I know hes going to said "tooth implant"..
but that cost close to $1000 bucks.

Same thing happened to me a couple of months ago, bits of the tooth started chipping away and suddenly the temporary filling just came out one day.

Whenever I get around to going to the dentist, I'm just going to have him pull it.

Ya.. I think I'm going to have him just pull whatever is left in there out, so it will close up.. The only problem with that is.. I have a lower partial denture.. and this tooth supports that the denture clips around this
tooth that just fell out.. Man.. can't win..

If you still have part of the tooth you may only need a partial.

    Got a small screw driver?
After the dentist yanks the post, tell him you want it. I had one that came out once, it was gold alloy, about 10k.

I was thinking about that.. there seems to be the "shell" in the tooth socket, but I have to see if it will hold the partial.. there is not alot above the gum line..

LOL.. I'll have to see if they are even in this morning.. If I can get them to
pull it.. I can deal with the implant later down the road.

If the tooth is pulled and the gum closes up can they still do an implant?

Ya.. from my understanding, it screws thru the gum, into the jaw bone.. it not 100% ethier way.
