    Adsl connection freezing?

    Hi,

Since i enabled ip forwarding, getting good download speeds with BitTornado my modem freezes up after say every 45 minutes of downloading, and i have to turn it off and on again to work again.

I only forward one port at a time for i can not specify a range in my virtual server config.(does my isp block my ip or something every 45 minutes when downloading with BitTornado, can they see that i'm using the torrent client?)

This only happens when i'm downloading torrents. I'm using a conexant wireless router.

Any ideas? What can i do?

    Thanks

The freezing may not be at the modem, but probably at the router.

Make sure your torrent client has limit max. number of simultaneous connections to not more than 128.

    See http://smallnetbuilder.com/component...189/chart,124/

Hi Trogers, thanks for your response! Well maybe i'm misunderstanding here, the router is the modem?
It's a conexant hasbani wireless Adsl router. I'm connecting with it via a wireless enabled pc. The router/modem is conencted to the wall in another room.

I have to literally switch the router/modem on and off to get it working again, for not even iexplorer want to connect to the internet after the connection freezes.

I'll try to limit my peers, let's see if it works. Thank you.

    I am using BitComet.

I had to limit the following:

Default number of connections per task - 10

Max. number of connections per task - 20

Max. number of running tasks - 12

Global max. number of connections - 128

Perfect Trogers and to think some other guy on another site told me this:

"I should imagine your modem/router is being overloaded with all the extra traffic and some corrupt packets (possibly sent by your ISP) are causing your modem/router to crash/stall"

Well maybe in a sense he's right because of all the connections, though he did not give a solution, only said that bittornado is not the best client and gave me some other links, i'll go see how they are.

i limited my connections to 100 wich is one of the default options i cannot specify 120

It work perfect. Thanks for your good advice! This is a good site !
