Setting UP Netgear router with Westell 6100 modem

I recently purchased a netgear router model:WGR614v6 to connect with my Westell 6100 modem (Verizon DSL). I went ahead and used the resource CD that was included in the package, but towards the end the set up does not conclude. I'm unable to connect to the internet with this router.

Does anyone ever tried this kind of set up?
I'm not sure on how to solve my problem.

The Westell units are already routers themselves. I you want to use your own router, you need to change the Westell to run in pure bridged mode, else you'll have a double-NAT situation..which is not ideal.
