Hello,
Ihave a few PCs, in a domain configuration (the server is running Windows 2003). I also have a gigabit connection between the server, my main PC (WinXP Pro) and my laptop (all the other computers are 100mbps and are connected to a different switch, which is connected to the gigabit switch).
The spped are the same is I use a switch or connect the server with my main PC using a crossover cable. All cables are Cat 5e and are no longer than 5 meters. The server has "Intel Pro/1000GT single port desktop adapter" and the main PC has "Intel PRO/1000MT dual port server adapter".
If I test the speed using PCATTCP utility ( http://www.pcausa.com/Utilities/pcattcp.htm ), using commandI get about 60MB/s from the server to main PC and 50MB/s from the main PC to the server. If I copy a file over NetBT (Windows file sharing), then I get about 20MB/s from the server to main PC and only 4MB/s from the main PC to the erver. Hard drives used in this transfer are capable of 50-60MB/s, so this should not be a problem.Code:pcattcp -t -l 819200 -f M IP
What is wrong and how could I fix it?
