My DSL running about 1/4th normal speed

Hi everyone.......I am new to these forums as you will probably discern from my post.

Anyway, the past 2-3 days my DSL (Verizon w/Westell 2200 modem/router) has a throughput of only one fourth it's usual speed.

My PC is a Micron with a Celeron 900 MHz Cpu, 512MB of SDRAM running Windows XP Pro.

I have NO idea what has happened to cause this drastic slowdown of my internet connection.

have you run some adware scans?

Adaware, spybot, ccleaner are good ones to start with.

Is this just with one site, or is everything slow?

Have you powercycled the Westell unit?
If you live in the States..particularly the north east area...we've had a lot of lightening storms lately..so lines would not be expected to be at 100% for a bit.
