setting required TCP/UDP ports for BF2?

I've read in the readme file that BF2 needs certien TCP and UDp ports to be allowed. But how exactly do you set these up through windows? Right now i'm useing XP home and a wireless router.

umm i think you just type in your ip in the webbrowers dont need the port and it should load up in your router page and there should be something on the BF2 site that gives you the ports you type those in in the boxes on that page you open up through your browser using your ip....atleast that is what i did to run World of Warcraft on my computer and it worked fine.

Thanks. I was able to find it through windows, set access and defaults panel. The reason I ask is because after reinstalling the game, it keeps hanging while trying to connect to server account. I don't even seem to be able to exit the game with alt tab or control+alt+delete... I've tried settings the recomended ports and patching to 1.3 but nothing has helped so far. Does anyone else have this problem? I could really use some help with this guys.
