been wanting to install a 120mm fan in the back of my case, but there is really no room for one, i did replace the original 80mm fan with a 92mm one a few years ago.

so i decided to make a blower box out of lexan, going to be painted so never mind the glue stains

i have a 120mm panaflo going inside there after a few more things are done, installed a new fan bus as well since my old one has a dead channel now, rewired the 2 front fans and a few more things as well, new filter on the cpu fan which will also get a new side panel.

i will update this thread when all is done.

no it is an exhaust fan,i went 120mm to lower the noise over the 92mm fan i had before.

the rear fan box can also be turned to either side if i want to blow the air sideways instead of up. this case sits on the floor with it's back to a wall so i want to direct the air away from the CPU intake.

basicly done with this project, there are a few things i would have done differently next time, but overall i am happy with jow it turned out, i really cleaned up the internal wireing as well.

i think i compressed the pics a tad too much, plus crappy lighting/camera, but you get the idea of how it looks.

oh and when i first booted this PC up again today after all this work, i had no fans running,seems i forgot to plug the fan bus back in to the power supply as i was redoing something, scared the crap out of me for a few seconds, i thought this PC sure is really quiet today LOL.

ya i can get sorta carried away trying to figure out the shortest route to run wires and keep them all together, i wanted to dye all the wires black but think that may void the 5 year warrenty of the power supply, and i could have really made a few wires longer so i could have run them slighty better, but am happy with this so far.

also i need to change the LEDs in this sunbeam fan bus, they are way too bright, maybe i will just unplug them or something.

Nice.. isn't that coolmaster case with the pull out mobo tray? I really like that and I'm considering going to it myself just for the wire running issue mostly.

I just can't stand the noise I'm getting from my current TT case.. but I think most of it is from the HSF from the CPU.. its the stock one that came with the FX55.. I'm currently lookin for a upgrade to either a quieter one or most likely water cool it with a new case such as what you have like the coolmaster. I hate to ask in this thread but any suggestions?

i would look into a case that has 120mm fans already cut out for you, my case originally had 80mm fans and i just can't stand the high pitch they make, so i went larger and quieter fans, the removable mobo tray is nice, but i rarely remove the mobo so it is really not that big of an issue.

for a heatsink, i really like my big typhoon, some people really like the scythe ninja, i know YoS has one, for quiet coolers that actually cool as well as being quiet.

you just have to make sure that you have room for them, in my case with the 38mm thick fan i use, i really had to cut a side inlet as there is only about a 1/2" of clearance to the side panel, and i didn't want to starve the fan for air. not really a big deal as i have been doing it that way for sometime now with the lexan side panels i make anyways.

thanks, ya i really like 120mm fans because you can run them at a lower speed and still get good air flow, nice and quiet.

the filter i got from here

i also got an okay from PC power and cooling to vinyl dye the power cables without voiding the warrenty, so that is another project to finish some day that i can rip it all apart and redo that part.

You keep the L.E.D. on that Sunbeam? Thing is brighter than the sun, ripped them out the second I saw them on.
