I would have asked them to check the lines from the street, to your house...and all inside the house. For years and years....since internet access was important to me, whenever I moved into a new location...I'd have the phone company run brand new lines in from the street...all inside the building, right up to where my modem would plug in. Even if it were just an apartment I'd be living in for a year. Bottom line is they don't really charge you all that much for it, and it's resulted in quite trouble free performance.

When I bought my house a few years ago...had all the phone lines ripped out...and even the line from my house to the street...had the phone company run CAT3 for that, and had all my internal lines replaced. That way I knew my phone lines were not the weak link.

If it goes out again, call them up again. Their road guys are just like anyplace else...you get a mixture of people, some lazy, some are good. Eventually you'll get someone good who will find the issue. Doesn't matter who you use for your ISP, or if it's cable or DSL.
