Anyone have a Canon rebel xt?

I'm running running a canon a95 and am content with it. Before this, I've owned sony, minolta, and HP.

The a95 does take good pictures and is responsive. However, I need less shutter lag.

I have 3 kids running around under the age of 5. I miss a lot of the shots because they move too fast or it miscalculates the lighting.

So, is the rebel xt as good as I think it is?

    Thanks!

CHeck out the powershot S2 - has teh same digix2 processor. From the reviews, the startup and picture quality are very similar - unless you're doing huge blow-ups (5MP vs. 8MP)

Two of my buddy's have picked up one in the last couple months. They are definetely an upgrade of the original Digital Rebel that I got 1.5 years ago. They are smaller, higher MP and better control/menu. Also, the lenses are interchangable, of course. That's the reason I got mine. I know you can go out and get normal digi cameras for cheaper that are the same MP, but they aren't near as user-controlable nor have the range of the many lenses.

However, I would also consider the following two cameras (the Nikon is getting a lot of good reviews all over):

    - Olympus Evolt E-500
    - Nikon D-50

I have one at the office. IT has been a workhorse.

We are purchasing a Canon 550 for home. It is a nearly perfect snapshot/video camera for about 360 USD

I'll also be in the market for a new digi cam myself. A lot better zoom, better quality evening / night photo's are a must! I'll keep an eye on the one's mentioned here.
