    Arrow AIM® Triton (Beta) Releases

04/25 - Welcome to the AIM® Triton Beta test.
This phase of the Beta test (Beta 1) is Windows XP only.
We recommend that the software be installed on a machine with at least 256 MB of RAM.
The current build of the AIM Triton beta software is Version 0.1.12
and the main features of this release are:
    • A modernized appearance and enhanced usability
    • Address Book and Buddy List integration
    • Support for multi-party voice chat
    Product Info: AIM® Triton

AOL AIM Triton is the next generation release of AOL Instant Messenger. It is an all new user experience with an elegant, tabbed look and feel. New 'Quicknote' feature replaces the initial IM window to provide a snapshot of known contact information about that buddy and give users three choices: launching an IM session, launching an AOL Talk session or sending a mobile text message to a cellular user. The tabbed messaging interface helps users easily transition from text to mobile instant messaging or AOL Talk, and will eventually enable users to launch video IM sessions, share files or images and invite Buddies to play games with one click. A new 'IM Catcher' corrals all messages into a single interface to help users effectively screen and manage their IM sessions with an unlimited number of Buddies.

05/25 The new build is version 0.2.11
The , Known Issues and Fixed Issues sections have been updated. We encourage you to read these sections.
Also note that you may sign up for Alerts via this page. To do so, scroll to the bottom of the page and click the appropriate link.

Some new changes in this build are:
    • We're testing out different ad placements in Beta 2! You can now view ads in either the IM conversation window or the Buddy List. In the IM window, the ads will display only once in the History area and will gradually scroll away as you send and receive IMs. You can also continue to view ads on the Buddy List as you do today.

You can choose your experience via the "Ads" tabs in the IM Settings window. Please keep in mind that this feature is being tested, and may not necessarily appear in the final product.
We'd love to hear from you about this! Feel free to leave a comment on the Message Boards or send us feedback.
    • The ability to Edit your Away message by clicking in the Away message indicator space on your Buddy List
    • A thumbnail view of all Buddy List (All Contacts tab) contacts
    • The ability to clear IM History
    • Buddy Info and Alert Me functionality when you ‘right click’ on the Buddy List feature.
