Lost my wireless connection after a power failure

I don't know what happened. I had a power failure in my home and I lost my wireless connection from my downstairs computer to my Gnet router upstairs. It says it cannot renew the IP address and yet the signal strength is good.

I went into my router and made sure that my WEP encryption was what I set if for.

I shut-off my Norton Security, thinking that it may have blocked it from communicating ( which really doesn't make sense since it happened after a power failure ).

The router works with the upstairs computer but it's hooked-up directly.

    I have XP SP2

Anything I should look for ?

Tried to remove the wireless connection in My Network Places but it will only allow me to repair.

I never had this problem before.

Thanks for any clues on what I should be looking for.
