    Post Upstream Tweaks?

I'm with Cogeco@home right now and have installed a heck of a lot of patches in an attempt to increase my upstream bandwidth. Judging by v.2.0 2Wire Bandwidth meter I'm getting about 120kbps to 350kbps upstream. Now I run a lot of servers for games (I host) and the downstream rates are fine but it's the upstream that's killing me. I can send the data out quick enough but I can't get it back in.

Is there any way to increase my upstream bandwidth? Or ... am I all ready at the max? I've been thinking of giving Cogeco a call and seeing if I can get an "upgrade" but I doubt they'd see to anything like that.

    Suggestions? Comments? Much appreciated,

    - Mhaddy

What patches have u installed? U really only need one and that's the Generic Registry Patch that corresponds w/ur OS (and maybe the web patch too). That should do it.

Not if ur capped and ur reaching ur cap. Contact ur provider and see what ur u/l cap is.

. Ur provider may have multiple packages (some do), ask them.

Before you call Cogeco you may wish to review their terms and conditions.

They do not allow the operation of servers.

Aye. Heh I'm not going to mention that I run servers; though I do not do it religiously anyhow.

I'm running a dual boot Win2K and '98SE - I've got the SGuide patches for both OSes, the VTCP file for '98SE and the Generic Registry patch.

Heh, stop running those servers!! I'm on cogeco@home too!!!

but don't bother asking cogeco for an "upgrade". It was 128kbps before. Without telling any of the subscribers, they jumped up to 384. PPl have called asking about the change and they said it was an "accident" and it should still be 128kbps.

Oh, and Cogeco also has a bandwith agreement. We can only d/l 5GB a month and u/l 1GB a month..It's in our contract

Heh heh, don't worry I won't suck up too much of our bandwidth

ssj, is there any way to keep track of how much you've u/l'ed and d/l'ed? I'd be very curious to see what an average day in my shoes would be like ...

As for the limits ... where is that damn T3, heh
