Here's the situation:
We're moving a DSL connection from a old system to a new system. The old system uses Windows 98 and has an internal PCI card (Efficient Networks Speedstream 3060 PPP) which receives the phone line.
A new system was purchased and now more than one system needs to access the DSL. So, the result was that a DSL modem was purchased. (Efficient Networks Speedstream 5100).
The problem is that I am unable to connect through this box. I have tried using 192.168.0.1 and http://speedstream. Even tried crossover and patch cables between the dsl box and the computer. Also, SBC was called and no luck came from it. They said that drivers were needed and that they were going to ship a CD. It doesn't seem logical to me. If someone could post a reply on their thoughts, that'd be great.
If I am missing any information, let me know.
DSL PPPoE Connection
Changing from Internal (SpeedStream 3060) to External (SpeedStream 5100).
RJ11 Cable from wall to External (SpeedStream 5100) to RJ45 Cat6 Cable to Computer Network Adapter.
Unable to connect to modem to configure to PPP connection or change settings to obtain internet.
IP configuration set to 192.168.1.64, Gateway to 192.168.0.1 = nothing found
IP configuration set to 192.168.0.100, Gateway to 192.168.0.1 = nothing found
Is this modem configurable through HTTP and if so shouldn't it be 192.168.0.1?
