    Wireless Connection Vs. Network Cable

I use my internet at home by connection to my Linksys wireless router which is connected to my modem.

    I only have wireless B so it's a 11mbit connection.

I know that with my wireless my transfer rate between computers is not even close to the speed of a network cable (100mbit).

I'm wondering though if my connection to the internet and my newsgroup download speeds is also affected by only having a 11mbit connection.

So my question is, does the 11mbit connection over 100mbit connection mean my downloads are slower or just the connection between my computers?

It won't slow down your download speeds. Your cable modem only works at 10-base T simplex and your download speed will be less than that. It will only slow down file transfers to and from other PC's on your LAN.
