    AbiWord

It's a free word process that I just found that had everything wordpad lacked and none of the annoyances from word.

I'd definitely add Logmein to the list. It's a free remote access program that's web based; I've read favorable reviews of it here before and I definitely agree with them.

Have been using this for a long time instead of print screen. Very handy when only a portion of the screen needs to be copied. Just an exe no install required. http://www.lysator.liu.se/~zap/zapgrab.html

x64 software a whole bunch of stuff

I found this site that includes x64 versions of many different software/drivers/codecs/systemutilies.

Most of the software is free some are share/trialware however though this site does have a long list of apps in x64

Some more apps to keep the list here fresh..

Eraser, a File Erasing / Shredding program that uses different "wipe" methods (algorithms) to overwrite your sensitive files, so that they can not be recovered. What is nice about this app, is that you can make a big list, then have the program shutdown your computer automatically when it is finished. You can also make a list of files and folders you want to destroy, and then "save" that list to a file, and recall it later on. Very Nice!

DriveImage XML, For clone hard drives and also backing up into a image. Runs from within Windows. Love this program for cloning hard drives.

FreeMind, Mind Mapping Software.. kind of like..working out your thoughts by making a graphic "map" of ideas.. kind of cool.

Does this really work? Is it a better alternative to Ghost?
