heres a question for ya.. i upgraded my dsl from verizon to gwi.. a friend has it.. approx 3 miles from the hub.. he gets 2.4/640 on a 3M/768k line.. i put in for the same package.. when my modem arrived it didnt work so they sent out another.. in the mean time i used my old verizon one.. i got 1.4/400.. i called about the speed (im only 2 blocks from the hub) they said verizon capped the modem (that explains teh speed) now my new modem comes yesterday.. i replace it.. they reset everything .. i now get 1.4/ 420 on the 3M/768K line, i called gwi back..they tried everything.. switching modems, re-installing my nic (nvidia from NF7-S rev 2) they even switched me to the redline package 8M/1M.. i still only got 1.4 dl but 800K upload.. gwi put in a trouble ticket and is looking into it.. does anyone have an idea why im stuck at such a low dl speed?
