    Question about gigabit ethernet

I was wondering what the optimal settings for Link Speed and Duplex would be on a 10/1000 card?

    My options are:

    Auto-Detect
    100 Full
    100 Half
    10 Full
    10 Half
    Auto-negotiate 1000

I read that auto anything is not so good for collisions and such, would this be true for the auto-negotiate 1000 setting?

Or, does any of this matter, and I should just set it to what the modem says? Haven't checked the modem yet, my RCA hates being touched(continuous cycling and loss of sync always ensue.)

    Thanks.

It depends on modem and isp specs most cable is 10half there is some that support 100full/100 full play around with them and see what gives you the best resaults.
