    linksys BEFSR41 connection not constant

Ya like 6 months ago i moved into a new house that has a full T1 connection and the Linksys BEFSR41 works and all, but the connection is like held with a shoe lace. Like every hour the internet ****s out and comes back for 2 mins but is very slow then like 10 or so mins later it would come back fully then ****s out an hour later.

What is your actual setup, including equipment? It's rare to see Linksys routers on T-1's...although they should work fine, just either "obtain auto" on the WAN side, or static WAN setup.

well we payed people to run CAT5 cables through the house and have rj45 slots in the wall so it would be easy networking. Then we have the Fiber Optic T1 runs into the house, then that runs into a receiver kinda looks like a hub that i think is the wan(only port one works). Then the linksys router is hooked up to that. and then we take a cable that runs to certain rooms and plug them in.

    First ..read this paragraph:

Note: On the Router's retail box it says "capable of handling up to a 1.5Mbps WAN connection" That is a type-o! (and not one in their favor at all - what a boo-boo). It should read "capable of handling up to a 1.5MBps WAN connection" (or it could say 10Mbps). Basically, because of that type-O, they are wrongly advertising the Router as 1/8 as fast as it really is on the WAN port (potentially). (We hope no one gets fired over there at Linksys Also, just to make sure you know at this point: The Router supports either 10Mbps or 100Mbps at Full-Duplex on the LAN side.

then go to the full article and read it..

You may want to play around with the WAN settings, perhaps try putting in static WAN IP info. I haven't run a Linky on a frac T full time, only used a couple once for a temporary setup for a customers WAN that needed to last just a couple of weeks until their Cisco's came in to take over the job. For a pretty affordable router for T's...I like Netopia's R-910.
