Go to Symantec's website. They may have a method listed for removal. Did Norton quarantine the file?
New keyboard, but still no "any" key.

Try running Spybot S&D and Ad-aware. It looks like it isn't truly a virus but actually spyware or malware.

I read about it here: http://www.spywareinfo.com/articles/cws/

    Good luck

i dont think so, under 'actions taken:' it just says 'access to the file was denied'

Spybot Search And Destroy will take care of it. You almost have to have S+D, Ad Aware, and Spyware Blaster now a days to handle everything and catch what one or the other misses.

ok i downloaded that, ran it, then restarted, then ran adaware and the same norton virus alert came up. so it didnt delete it or fix it. any other way to get rid of it?

Usually if Norton denies access to a file it does one of two things depending on your settings. It will either attempt to repair the file and if unsuccessful delete the file or will attempt to repair and quarantine it. Check to see if the file is in quarantine folder. If it is you should be able to delete it from there.

Just got up, maybe I missed something.

What is the virus called? Much easier to deal with it if you know what it is.

Wrong forum completely, by the way

    2. Scanning for and deleting the infected files
Start your Symantec antivirus program and make sure that it is configured to scan all the files.
For Norton AntiVirus consumer products: Read the document, "How to configure Norton AntiVirus to scan all files."
For Symantec AntiVirus Enterprise products: Read the document, "How to verify that a Symantec Corporate antivirus product is set to scan All Files."
    Run a full system scan.
If any files are detected as infected as Trojan Horse, write down the name and location of the file before deleting it. You will need this information in the sections that follow.

NOTE: If your Symantec antivirus product reports that it cannot delete an infected file, shut down the computer, turn off the power, and wait 30 seconds. Then, restart the computer in Safe mode and run the scan again. All the Windows 32-bit operating systems, except Windows NT, can be restarted in Safe mode. For instructions on how to do this, read the document, "How to start the computer in Safe Mode."

You need to see your OB/GYN immediately. Sometimes they can cure these things.

ok this is what it says:

    1 Click Tools
    2 Click Internet Options
    3 Click Accessibility
4 Uncheck "Format documents using my style sheet"
See if this is checked, make sure before you uncheck to look at the path of the *.css file. It was my.css in one case, system.css in another.
    5 Click Ok twice
6 Now go to the c:\Windows directory where the file is located and delete that *.css.
    Reboot

what i dont understand is number 4. It has a box where i have to type something in but i dont understand what im supposed to type.

Since u guys are pretty much all "geniuses" as was told by that little online IQ test. help me out here
