I had COX cable for about 3 years now and i've just now started useing there news groups for downloading pretty much anything I can get my hands on.... I use Newsbin Pro for getting on to there server. They only allow 4 ports per ip address. With only 4 ports I have been pulling around 1.5Mbps download speeds. Does anyone here really use there news group provided by there ISP? And if so what are some tricks of the trade. I have found out a way to get 8 ports open from my isp and therefore pull around 2.5Mbps to 2.8Mbps. Just was curious to who all likes and dislikes there News group?

as of yet i've been pulling 3 ip's since i've began useing cox internet over 3 years ago... when they were roadrunner. Therefore I can get 8 instead of 4 ports with my news group and this is how i'm really doing it. Linksys cable modem>>D-link Switch>>Nexland Pro 800turbo. The router is what is letting me get on the news group with 8 ports. Since i'm sending 2 of cox's ip's to each of the routers WAN ports. It's a pricey little router but it gives me some room to grow with my internet connection. Besides you can't beat the 2.5 and 2.8Mbs download speeds.
