Looking for a free simple calendar PHP script

I'm trying to make a calendar in my website. But doing by HTML for every month and such is a pain. I heard with PHP it can be done easier. However mainy of them require payment or have bunch of features.

All I want is to display a month calendar, changing the date through a pull down menu, able to add events and is displayed on the day like important days and holidays and if possible have a text listing of those events on the side of main page of the website (like those news sites).

I'm read some tutorials on PHP. I know the basic commands but not all of the advanced ones.

hotscript always inspired me that I can find whatever script I want, But I would like a PHP calendar that can be easily integrated into my existing website. Is that hard?

You'll need a database or a flat file system. Try a few scripts & find out.
