    Steam

Anybody using steam here to play 1.6? I WAS, for about 2 days, but its not working now. I get an error saying this when I try to enter CS, "The game is currently unavailable. Please try again at another time." Any ideas? I've been trying all day today and all day yesterday. Steam isn't down because my friend logged in and out a bunch of times since then and his worked.

Steam is something for Half-Life. Its what they're going to start using for online multiplayer games. Its just a program, makes it all a lot easier but its still in its beta...

download that little prog and then install. If you ever get a problem that re-occurs saying that "game is unavailable, try again later" or something like that, just unsibscribe to Counter-Strike and ALL other valve things, close out of steam ALL THE WAY, restart, and re-subscribe, it'll work perfectly. Have fun!!

It worked for me and I got the retail version. It was fun playing with the Tactical Shield and having it sometimes protect me but other times I just got creamed. I think I'll just start playing with the shield when I'm on CT.
