Internet keeps going out of sync

My internet keeps going out of sync the cable light on my cable modem stays on but the internet wont work so what i have to do is release my connection unplug my cable modem plug it back up let it connect and then renew my connection.Anyone know what the problem is?Is it my router,or my cable modem or what?

Contact your ISP, they should be able to loop you and see what the signal strength is.

Bypass your router to eliminate it, most likely it's some type of line problem i.e. bad coax, connection, filter etc.:) :D

well evidentually its not the router because when i try it
with the computer plugged stratight into the cable modem it still does it.im using a cat5e cable not a cat5 cable would that make a difference.

No that wouldn't make any difference, what firewall are you using? Did you check ALL your connections on the coax cable?:)

Im using zonealarm but lately ive been jsut closing it out. And yes i checked all my connections.

Uninstall ZA then go to their site and follow the instructions for removing all the left over crap from it, it could very well be your problem. Disabling it won't prevent it from ruining your connection.:) ;)

OK well i just got the RP 614 netgear router and it is still going out of sync. I dont have ZA on my computer what in the world is wrong with it?

I upgraded the firmware and did a few other things and it seems to be ok so far ill keep you posted
