I need some utilities that can remove the Linux boot sector or boot records so I can revert a linux drive to windows.

I cant see anything in Fdisk, of partition magic (boot disk), I cant get it to boot into dos. It still trys to load linux.

i cant get windows to install, it says that it cant write a temporary director and that there is a Disk Cache on the disk or something.

I need help....:(

Probaly because Linux uses its own file system. I used PartitionMagic to format a Linux file system drive back to FAT32, but I have no clue how do it otherwise.

Always install other OSes on separate partitions, yo...and don't dump Windows unless you're sure.

Fdisk with a Win98 boot disk. www.bootdisk.com If you don't have access to one.

Remove the non Dos partitions first, then any logical drives, then any extended partitions, then the primary partition. In that order (if they exist)

Then recreate any partitions you want to make. Primary first. (don't forget to set the primary active)

Then you may even have to Fdisk /mbr
Reboot, and format right away.

If that doesn't work for you, I have a file that will wipe the boot sector for you so you can start fresh with Fdisk and create your partitions. If you ned the file let me know and I'll put it up for you to download.

Once you get that done, you're set to install windows.

Delpart.exe From NT 3.51, this utility can delete extended NTFS,
Lilo, and just about any other type of partition .
DELPART is a DOS based utility that will remove NTFS partitions from
hard drives. FDISK is unable to remove some types of NTFS partitions.
DELPART can wipe clean a hard drive, then you can use FDISK to create
partitions normally.
