I chose the Comcast Pro service for the upload speed which advertised 3.5down 384up for $95/month. Actually i ran at about 2.8down and 40 up. If i went to a speed test ....sure it would tell me 3.5down and like 481up and i would be happy with that if that's all i wanted was for it to say speeds on a silly website...but if i loaded a ftp site up and let friends d-load from me...or loaded to a comcast file server where you can store files...i would actually only upload at like tops 50k......what a ripoff! A comcast tech came to my house and looked at the line and everything and said that i was getting 1/10th of my advertised and that was normal....WTF!!!!!.....if i bought a car that should be able to go 100mph top speed ....but it actually only went 10mph...i would want my money back. STAY AWAY FROM COMCAST PRO!!!!!!

If your advertised upload is 384kiloBIT per second and you upload at 50KiloBYTES per second, then you are actually getting faster speeds than what you are supposed to get! You're only supposed to see 48 KiloBYTES!

You stated that a speed test showed you 481KiloBIT upload? THATS GREAT!!! Better than MOST broadband users on this ENTIRE MESSAGE BOARD!

See... what you are failing to realize is, Comcast Pro's advertised speeds are GUARANTEED MINIMUMS (at least thats what the salesperson told me), NOT UNGUARANTEED MAXIMUMS (like the rest of us)!

Notice how I was capitalizing when I spelled KiloBIT and KiloBYTE. 8 BITS make a BYTE. Your upload is shown in KiloBYTES. KB (notice the capital B, not Kb) stands for KILOBYTES! 50KB? That is SMOKING!

So, do all of us and yourself a favor. Enjoy your Comcast Pro. Its the best you can get short of Optimum Online or a T1 (umm, T1 lines cost WAY MORE than both Comcast AND Optimum Online).

Lord, some people are NEVER satisfied!

P.S. Are you sure they (Comcast) didnt mean that you were within 10% of your rated speed? Thats what they used to tell me!

Hey RMAT,

Thanks to your complaining, I went and ordered Comcast Pro to see what the speeds look like. Honestly? The download is AWESOME (reminds me of the @HOME days) and the upload is pretty decent. And I get 5 IP address (I'll never use all 5. I'll only use 1, thank you.).

So umm, YOU SUCK!

Stop crying like a baby and enjoy Comcast Pro!

I am!

i would suggest that you do your history on docis.

I was thinking about going Pro myself. I've been holding off because Comcast is suppose to start a gold service that is in between standard and Pro. I just hope they don't take another year to roll it out.

From what I have been told by friends who work for Comcast, Gold might not happen.
