I am really becoming envious, Dakota :). You have created some very nice compositions. I promised myself not to buy another digital camera until the 6MP's become more affordable.

Yikes: On pics 1, 4 & 5 I was using a Sigma 70-300 APO with shots 1 & 4 in macro mode. Pic 2 is with a Canon 50mm and shot 3 is with a Canon 28-135IS USM.

David: You know after having this thing for two months now, it's worth every penny I paid for it. Every time I use it, it amazes me. I expect there might be a minor price drop after February and maybe some new camera announcements. People are expecting something in the 9mp range but it's all rumor.

Banshee: Yeah! That's what I say everytime I use this amazing machine!!

Zuma: Here's your sawdust (Note: This is sawdust from the floor of Zuma's woodshop on Saturday morning):

Those are great pictures.

But got to ask after spending so much money on D60, I would be so nerovus to take it out for fear of dropping it or breaking it?

Nope. Not at all. For one thing I have never dropped a camera in my life and I have insurance that covers the camera and all its equipment no matter what happens: Theft, robbery, fire, tornado, terrorism, car accident, my dog ate it, oops! I dropped it in the ocean...ANYTHING... ;)

Really? What kind of insurance is this? How do I get it? How much is it?

I know I have an extended warranty on my Olympus 2100, until 2005, from Olmypus itself, but it does not carry, unintenional abuse, like if I drop it.

I always use a camera strap, but I am so nervous especially when my wife uses it, because even though she is careful she is not as paranoid as me.

I just love my Olympus 2100, because of the 10x optical zoom, and even if mine broke I cannot get another one because it is discontinued.

Thanks Dakota

Davy19: Thanks. I got the firmware very early Monday morning. ;)

As for the insurance, it's a rider on my homeowner's policy. If you have homeowner's or renter's insurance then call your carrier. I am not aware of any companies that insure only camera equipment.

Illini25: Thanks! :)

Intersting, yes I do have homeowner insurance, to be honest I know nothing about it, it was all inculded with the mortgage, I need to find this out.

I jsut find it strange that they would cover the camera lets say you were at a sports arena and it broke? Or you dont tell them where you were when it breaks?

Thanks for the info...mabe one day if my wif elets me I will get the D60..

It all depends on your insurance. We picked our homeowner's insurance. I never let anyone pick it for me. Anyway, right out of the box with our personal property insurance in our homeowner's policy the camera and all other equipment was covered against theft and fire and other 'normal' stuff like that no matter where we were, i.e., motel, friends house, just out and about, whatever.

Adding the special rider protects it against ANY loss. And yes, that means ANY loss. The way I explain it is that a bald eagle could snatch the camera from my neck, fly out over the ocean and drop it, never to be seen again and I'd get a brand new camera and all attached accessories up to $5k per loss and maximum $2,000 per piece of equipment (camera, lens, etc) for a mere $250 deductible.
