Both my kids have their own RIG, and I don't get too hung up on what they have on them.
Well I finally talked my daughter into getting rid of kazaa and removing all that spyware from her rig. In the process of doing so things got pretty messy.
I downloaded a product called BPS Spyware and Adware remover 2.5 has a trial period and thought what the heck would try it out. I first ran it on my RIG and it found no registry keys but found 28 possible files. I pressed next removed everything and all was good.
Next I figured great run it on her RIG. It found tons of Registry keys and files......... proceeded to remove them and Bang it couldn't finish removing all the entries. Tried again and NO GO.
Figured no big deal.... ... well now she cannot be seen or see any network shares, plus cant online game..... oddly enough Explore didn’t work at first but somehow started working again.
Now I still thought no big deal would clean things up with some other utilities I have. So obviously went to copy them over with a floppy disk and NO GO(floppy drive is screwy). lol,, and I did lol,, thought boy this is a pain.
Proceeded to try and uninstall TCP/IP,,, system won't let that happen either.
This was all last night,,, didn't have time this morning,,,, but I think my next step is to reinstall OS (by the way is XP pro)
I guess I am just curious if anyone else has fallen into this trap?
Plus whats the deal with not being able to uninstall TCP/IP?
