Welcome to SG, Vercat.

First off you should try going back to the site after disabling Active Scripting and setting your firewall to the on position..
Did you d/load any of the files the site offered? One was dostuff.vbs
If you choose to disable active scripting, select Internet Options from the Tools menu. Select the Security tab, and click the Custom Level button. Select Disable under Active Scripting, click OK.

What you do by d/loading the file is enable access to your system and you accepted the d/load, even though it's not going to harm your system. The trick here is not to d/load offers like those.

The amount of information you saw there is what every site you have been to can get access to if the site is set up for it.

After spending some time there and using the tests, the site is a good one IMHO. It gives an option to plug the gaps when the tests are done and it uses references and links to Bugtraq, Microsoft and others.

Thanks for linking the site. It deserves a place in the Security Forum "Sticky" thread.

Again, disable Active Scripting and test again. When the results for the tests come up, click the "how to fix it" link.

Enjoy your new virtual home here.:D

Croc.

Get a hold of a program called RegCleaner and it will list all the Registry entries that are no use. www.jv16.org These will include the programs that you have deleted.

Any files with 0 bytes in them should be able to be manually deleted without a problem.
