View Full Version : Problems with Sygate
The Sygate firewall that I installed works fine when I fold, but when I "allow all" to access the internet I have problems....can't access anything on the net at all unless I uninstall it.
What firewall do you guys recommend or is there something in the settings that I have to change with this one.
Thanks :)
Hi Tigress..
Have a look in the "Applications" folder at the r/click menu in the tray icon.
The program should be listed there. What's the image of the icon at the left of the entry>

While on the Sygate thing... Why do you "allow all" to access the net?
What you are doing is simply dropping your firewall. If you leave it set to "Normal" the internet connection should not be stopped and your firewall will be working.

Thank you Croc. As you can see, I do not know much about firewalls............lol. The reason I wanted to use one was because one day I was at my desktop and my dam mouse cursor was moving all by myself. I assumed that someone remotely accessed my system and I was concerned.
Any comments?
If the curser had a mind of it's own and was moving around the screen without your assistance then you had every right to be concerned. Someone was playing on your system with a remote access program.

yep and i wish I had something to SHOOT them with LMAO!!!!!
If you have done nothing since this happened apart from load a firewall, go here and take the Trojan Test. (http://www.anti-trojan.net/en/onlinecheck.aspx)
or...
d/load a Trojan Scanner and use it.
