Charter ip lease expiring

My charter pipeline in the Wa area appears to be oversold. The ip lease began expiring every 30 minutes last week and is now up to two hours. I renew the IP and the same thing happens.
Thosewith routers are stuck resetting their modems. Heads up to others.....

What happens when the lease expires? Do you lose the cable internet connection? I'm on Charter Communications and my connection to the net disconnects occasionally and I have to reboot in order to regain access.:(
