I went to check to see what my progress was in KDFold and noticed it was the same as a few hours ago. This struck me as odd so I went to see if my cpu was still at 100%. Well it was at 1%. I opened my FireDaemon up and tried to start the process and it wouldn't let me. So I went to the website and found there has been a new version released. I installed the new version and all is well again.
Has anyone else had this problem?

Sounds to me like you were using one of the beta versions. They do expire.
Haven't tried those out, still using the UI V1.0R3 version. Never a problem. Once the new one go gold maybe I'll try it out.
Yeah I have only seen that behavior on expired alpha or beta versions.
I have a system that has been up for months with no issues.
Early beta's expired 1st October, last beta expired 15th October. Looking at the date, I assume you were caught with the 15th October expiry.
You will see a message in the application event log from firedeamon mentioning it has expired. That is how I worked it out.
The lite version has gone Gold and I am running it for 2 weeks now. I was caught out on 2nd October and the lite version was gold already then.
Lite version works fine, except it only handles 1 firedeamon service, which is ok by my. It is free and has no expiry date.

:(I got caught also, but didn't figure it out until reading these posts. I deleted it from my computers and went to starting it with a shortcut that I put in my startup folder. Works just as good and I don't have to worry about it expiring. :D

true, but I like to have it hidden in the background
I think there is a way to do that without the program but I forget how to do it
I will have to read up a little and let you guys know
I also prefer it running as a service, so you don't see it and you don't accidentally close the window in which it is running.
The new Firedeamon lite has no expiry date, so if you get it, you are set for life. :)
