Setting up home network

Ok well i have an old computer that im gonna use for a server and what im doing is i have two nics on my gaming machine and 1 nic on my server and im gonna run a crossover cable to the server and i want to be able to serve unreal so i need to setup some kind of home lan. I have everything plugged up just need some directions on configuring it and i would like to go ahead and get it nocked out so i can start serving.:D Any help please?

*EDIT*Oh yeh and the server is running 98 and the gaming machine is running 2000.

Ok i think i got it working now just i cant install the deticated server for unreal because on this machine that somone game me that im gonna use for my server only has a 1.18 gig harddrive so i cant put tthat on it so tommorow ill find my old 20 giger and try to get it running in it well im out for the night though. Lata.
