ok here is the problem.my OS is win98.i have ADSL line.modem external.speed touch home-alcatel.and it is connected to a fast ethernet cotroller reatlek .problem is:there is ip address in tcp/ip setts for realtek.and when i try to creat a server for Aok (its a game.)and try to see my ip from the game i only see that set ip from tcp/ip for realtek ethernet.and naturaly nobady is able to connect to my server and i cant connect also.in tcp/ip is also set gateway and domain.pls help 10x
Most games you will have to open ports because of firewalls installed on routers. go to www.practicallynetworked.com find your game there and log on to your routers home page and put the port numbers in port forwarding. should work if ya know what your doing. if you dont call your routers tech support and tell them what your trying to do.
tell them you need to open ports for a game. but beware opening ports closes your firewall so better have some kind of anti-virus installed.
BTW when you open that link click on Internet Sharing....go all the way to bottom and click on the ports list. If the ports arent listed there call the games tech support. I looked for Aok and did not see it there. But you can look maybe you will see it, not sure what that game is. Be best to call the game vendor b/c those most of those port numbers listed there are not up to date.

are you trying to use a 192.x.x.x or 10.x.x.x address?
well i dont know what i am supposed to use..when i create server in aok and try to see my ip from the game it says 10.10.1.
that fixed from tcp/ip in fast ethernet .but hen i run winipcfg from win there is nothing there like i am not online only dns server.help.
