When i was trying to install Easy CD creator 5, or anything that installs from a CD, it gives me an error:

instmsiw.exe - Entry point not found
The procedure entry point Loa 'LibraryA could not be located in the dynamic library Kernal32.dll

Depending on which program i install, the .exe on top differs, so it's not always instmsiw.exe.

I did try to format the computer, however it's not working.
Computer specs are as follows:
Asus P5A
AMD K6-2 500Mhz
384MB PC100
15GB, 10GB HD
Liteon 40x CDRW
10x DVD
Aopen sound card
NIC
WinXP Pro

Also i got another problem is that whatever i put in the CDR, it doesn't read, it shows that the drive is empty but I can burn CD no problem with it. I m wondering what's wrong cuz it's bugging the hell out of me and my uncle...
Thanks for any help in advance :)

It could be a problem with Windows Installer...might try and download the latest version at Microsoft's site.

Oh, and clear all your temp files, too. That's worked for me before.

I think Roxio is overwriting the Windows Installer, but the latest downloadable version is 2.0, which comes with XP.

Might try reinstalling it, though:

Well never mind AGAIN! Won't work with XP at all. Dammit. Try copying the instmsiw.exe from the XP CD.

Ok i had a problem with my cd burner. it would constantly blink during boot up and when windows was runnin. In device manager sometimes it was there, sometimes not. I thought it was windows, or the IDE ribbon. Turns out it was a psu issue. i also updated the firmware to the burner. Just my 2. If you have a different CDR or psu, try swapping.

Run "sfc /scannow". This will reinstall any windows files that have been corrupted.

If it won't take then you have done some updates with MS. What your'e going to have to do is download the hotfixes and service packs that you installed(the IT download not the net install version) and slipstream it into the i386 folder. Then burn a copy of the i386 folder onto cd. I posted instructions a while back in this thread on how to do it. SFC will then work.

I will be in the hospital having spine surgery tomorrow so I won't be able to give much help after this. If you goto the IT download for w2k sp2 or 3 there will be a file called deploy. It will explain exactly how to do it as well. Just look for slipstream in the doc. Its like 40 pages or so.

Thank you very much Sid. Good luck on your surgery tomorrow!!

I don't think i'll attemp to fix it, since the system runs smoother in ME and everything works well, i mine as well put it back to ME but thanks for your suggestion tho, i'll keep it in mind if it pops up again.

Again, thx and good luck to u :)
