View Full Version : My New Aortic Heart Valve
For those interested in this type of thing, I'm including the picture of the valve used and what it looks like installed. There's more interesting stuff at: http://www.sjm.com/4.0/4.2/4.2.shtm

Cool.
I've known a couple of people here who had valve replacements years ago and were fully active into their ninties.
Hi poptom.
The whole reason behind this valve is so I don't have to have anymore surgeries of that nature. It was way too close to death for me and that's the second time around.
Reading through the other threads, I gathered that you knew something about AVR's. You even knew how risky it was. I appreciate the fact that you recognized that. Some people treat it as if it's like having their tonsils taken out or it's some sort of vacation. Let's just say that I hope they never have to experience it.
Thanks again,
Ross
I'm sure glad it worked for you, Ross, and I'm certainly pleased and relieved to see you back on the forums!
WoW blebs, just looking at that really scares the heck outta me! You are truly a miracle and i'm glad you're ok and here with us on the boards. It's really good to see you posting again! :D
The valve surgery went just fine. Things didn't go wrong until they started messing with my lung, then everything went wrong. I haven't seen a Doctor yet that can keep his hands off of something that he doesn't understand and just has to biopsy it!
Oh well, enough of my rant.
