The Abit It7 Max 2 has been out for how long and whats this the Abit It7 Max 2 Ver. 2.0 out now w/ DDR 333 support:

Haven't seen it for sale yet. Just when I was about to buy the Max 2 and now this. I will have to wait for price. Anyways why do they only show support for P4's up to 2.4 nothing higher??? And even with the IT7 Max it only shows support for DDR 266 but can use DDR 333
It's probably their keeping in step with what Intel's official specs for the chipset are.

But to my understanding its the same mobo just w/ DDR 333 supports. Why didn't they just make a BIOS update?? Not like your affiliated with Abit but it would make more sense right?

It's DDR333 support built into the hardware (i.e., the chipset). A BIOS update couldn't change anything physically at the hardware level, but it could add memory dividers so you could possibly get more overclocking options. You can get DDR333 on most of the boards out there now anyway.

Well, seeing as how the IT7-MAX2 was announced at the end of July and didn't show up for sale until early September, I'd say it'll probably be the same amount of time until you see them available. The price will likely be comparable to what the IT7-MAX2 is now.
