how to do home networking

ok , i brought a server and i have my computer
i want to do networking, transfer file to and from each computer

i have connected both to internet rite now
using a 10mps hub and network.

not how do i config the software.

which operating system?

if it's winxp, just get everything in the same workgroup and hey presto the network will be set up!
