Hello Mno, I'm adding a new thread (as requested in the "My Tips" post) to see what can be done for my conn. I'm running Windows 2000 (Completely updated, ran Windows update several times, till there were no more updates, and ran the "BigFix" utility) on AMD athlon XP 1500, 256 2100DDR, Gf2 Ti 64Mb DDR. My ISP is ATT (@attbi). My speed caps (Unless I'm mistaken) are 1500DL, and 256UL. Linksys V.4 Ethernet card, 100/10.

Here is the requested information:

Browser/OS = Mozilla/4.0 (compatible; MSIE 6.0; Windows NT 5.0)

TCP options string = 020405b40103030301010402

MTU = 1500
MTU is fully optimized for broadband.

MSS = 1460
Maximum useful data in each packet = 1460, which equals MSS.

Default Receive Window (RWIN) = 385440
RWIN Scaling (RFC1323) = 3 bits
Unscaled Receive Window = 48180
RWIN is a multiple of MSS
Other values for RWIN that might work well with your current MTU/MSS:
513920 (MSS x 44 * scale factor of 8)
256960 (MSS x 44 * scale factor of 4)
128480 (MSS x 44 * scale factor of 2)
64240 (MSS x 44)

bandwidth * delay product:
Your RcvWindow limits you to: 15417.6 kbps (1927.2 KBytes/s) @ 200ms
Your RcvWindow limits you to: 6167.04 kbps (770.88 KBytes/s) @ 500ms

MTU Discovery (RFC1191) = ON

Time to live left = 64 hops
TTL value is ok.

Timestamps (RFC1323) = OFF

Selective Acknowledgements (RFC2018) = ON

IP type of service field (RFC1349)= 00000000

*Another thing.. When I enter the the defaultTOS value it automatically subtracts 10 values (so 64 in Cablenut would show up as 54 on the SpeedGuide Anylizer). I've changed computers, and OS's. Always subtracts 10. Am I the only on that is experiancing this ? I find it strange to have the same prob on two completely different OS's.

I have also DL'd all the Reg tweaks that apply to my OS, and Conn. And entered the cablenut settings you provided us with.

Here is a list of what I have now..

DefaultReceiveWindow = 192512
DefaultSendWindow = 32768
DisableAddressSharing = 1
InitialLargeBufferCount = 100
InitialMediumBufferCount = 240

TcpTimedWaitDelay = 30
TcpUseRFC1122UrgentPointer = 0
TcpWindowSize = 385440
MaxConnectionsPer1_0Server = 20
MaxConnectionsPerServer = 10
DefaultTTL = 74 ***-So that it will show up as 64 in the Anylizer
DisableUserTOSSetting = 0
TcpMaxDataRetransmissions = 6
DefaultTOSValue = 92 -I sometimes leave this feild blank for a "speed boost". It has sometimes increased my UL by as much as 100kbps, at others-- 0kbps. :-/

Speed Test results from www.sfo.speakeasy.net (Nearest to me) And yes, I clear the temp files after each test..

Try the following settings:

DefaultReceiveWindow = 192512
DefaultSendWindow = 32768
DisableAddressSharing = 1
InitialLargeBufferCount = 100
InitialMediumBufferCount = 240
InitialSmallBufferCount = 320
LargeBufferSize = 81920
MaxFastTransmit = 64000
MediumBufferSize = 15040
PriorityBoost = 0
SmallBufferSize = 1280
TransmitWorker = 32
FastSendDatagramThreshold = 4096
EnableFastRouteLookup = 1
EnablePMTUDiscovery = 1
IgnorePushBitOnReceives = 0
GlobalMaxTcpWindowSize = 37960 or 52560 or 64240
MaxFreeTcbs = 8000
MaxHashTableSize = 16384
MaxNormLookupMemory = 5000000
SackOpts = 1
SynAttackProtect = 1
Tcp1323Opts = 0
TcpLogLevel = 1
TcpMaxDupAcks = 2
TcpMaxHalfOpen = 100
TcpMaxHalfOpenRetried = 80
TcpRecvSegmentSize = 1460
TcpSendSegmentSize = 1460
TcpTimedWaitDelay = 30
TcpUseRFC1122UrgentPointer = 0
TcpWindowSize = 37960 or 52560 or 64240
MaxConnectionsPer1_0Server = 20
MaxConnectionsPerServer = 10
DefaultTTL = 64
DisableUserTOSSetting = 0
TcpMaxDataRetransmissions = 6
DefaultTOSValue = 92

Also set your NIC duplex mode to 10mb half duplex unless you are using a router, then set it to 100mb full duplex.:) :D

Those settings only accomplished an UL speed of 52kbps. DL maintained a steady 1440kbps.

*No clue about that DefaultTOS prob ?

The TOS value should give you a speed boost. Try using values of 48 or 252...... any value between 0-255 is valid, 92 seems to work the best for most. That is odd your upload is so low, lowering your RWIN should improve your upload, are you connecting via USB or NIC?:) :D
