hey ho... I used the cablenut settings and all was fine... but now in my browser window [IE and mozilla] all pictures won't load! Some will and others won't. I've cleared all caches etc.. etc... but I have no idea what could be causing it. Also I want to know how to change my alternative/transparent caches...

cheers big-ears :D

Are you using any ad blocking software and what firewall are you using? Have you installed the IE6 SP1 update? What are your caps and what do you have MaxConnectionsPer1_0Server & MaxConnectionsPerServer set to?:) :D

okay... firstly, running windows2000 with SP3 and using I.net browsers Mozilla 1.1 and IE5.5.... everythin was fine before tweaking...

Maxconnectionsper1_0Server = 20

Maxconectionsperserver = 10

my caps are 1024/256 cable here are my current TCP analyser results:

TCP options string = 020405b401010402

MTU = 1500
MTU is fully optimized for broadband.

MSS = 1460
Maximum useful data in each packet = 1460, which equals MSS.

Default Receive Window (RWIN) = 52560
RWIN Scaling (RFC1323) = 0 bits
Unscaled Receive Window = 52560
RWIN is a multiple of MSS
Other values for RWIN that might work well with your current MTU/MSS:
513920 (MSS x 44 * scale factor of 8)
256960 (MSS x 44 * scale factor of 4)
128480 (MSS x 44 * scale factor of 2)
64240 (MSS x 44)

bandwidth * delay product:
Your RcvWindow limits you to: 2102.4 kbps (262.8 KBytes/s) @ 200ms
Your RcvWindow limits you to: 840.96 kbps (105.12 KBytes/s) @ 500ms

MTU Discovery (RFC1191) = ON

Time to live left = 54 hops
TTL value is ok.

Timestamps (RFC1323) = OFF

Selective Acknowledgements (RFC2018) = ON

IP type of service field (RFC1349)= 01011100
Precedence (priority) = 010 (immediate)
Delay = 1 (low delay)
Throughput = 1 (high throughput)
Reliability = 1 (high reliability)
Cost = 0 (normal cost)

Try lowering Maxconnectionsper1_0Server & Maxconectionsperserver to 10 & 8 and see if it helps. Also... you aren't using a firewall? You need to if you aren't.:) ;)
