Hey guys since CNET's Catch Up is down..... for who knows how long (maybe forever), there is an alternative. I remember seeing this on the Screen Savers a while back but never researched it because CNET was great, but take a look and see what you think...... The Big Fix (http://www.bigfix.com/website/index.html).:D ;)

They suggested DAP too. I swear they got paid for that one.
I had The BigFix dealy like 6 months ago it ate up resources. :(
Most of all it annoyed me. I hate stuff in my taskbar.

Don't ever leave it running in the background, just use it when you want to. :) ;)

I installed BigFix 1.7.6.0 and don't allow it to run in the background all the time. Like Mnosteele said, just fire it up when you want to run it.
I surely do miss CNET Catchup 1.31 though.:(

I've been running Big FIx for about a week and your right LOBO "if ya wanna go slow this is for you" , however if you just start it up every couple of days and gather and install updates needed its not to bad.....

Okay, I installed it.
I chose not to load during startup during the install. Never slowed my computer one bit.
I did find 2 secrurity holes I thought were patched.
It does even when it says it's not running, tested, but if you like:)

I just checked my Processes and Applications lists in my Task Manager. It is not running on my computer. Just make sure it does not load on startup and you will be fine.

DITTO, I don't see how any app that just sits on your harddrive that doesn't run in the background can slow you down??? It just takes up a few MB of harddrive space.
