This is the second time this has happened in the last month and I need to figure out why....Setup is as follows:

ISP - Cable via Road Runner
Toshiba PCX1100 Cable Modem hooked to...
Linksys BEFSR41
3 Machines on the router - 2 are 2K only and 1 is 2K/98 Dual boot.
Because of the dual Boot and Webserver I have set all machines with Static IPs

What happens is everything runs great, then I start getting "Network Cable Unplugged" on all three Computers at the same time - it lasts for a few seconds then reconnects. When that happens, if you watch the router and modem they are reseting themselves. The Data/Activity lights on the Modem and Router are ALWAYS blinking even if I am not actually doing something. It resets about once every 5 to 10 minutes. The PC and Data light goes out on the modem and the router DIAG/Reset light comes on. Once everything resets it works fine. I tried hooking the modem up straight to one machine and switch it to DHCP and it appears to work fine (last time this happened it didn't work though - same problem). I've tried reseting the router and modem numerous times and that doesn't help. Tried switching all the machines back to DHCP and that doesn't work (not to mention my dual boot machine requests 192.168.10.10 which is not valid in my setup). Last time I just unplugged the UPS that all my network hardware is plugged into and went out of town for the day. When I came home and kicked it all back on it worked fine.

PLEASE HELP - Any ideas would be greatly appreciated!!

Sounds like the router is hosed.....if all the machines go "disconnect" at the same time.....the router has to be power resetting. Shouldn't at all...with "Keep Alive"...it should run 24/7.

Static LAN side, or DHCP LAN side....has absolutely nothing to do with it. The fact that DHCP on the LAN side doesn't appear to work either makes me think something hosed in the router.

Try upgrading the firmware?

The 192.168.10.10 machine is odd....is it some used machine that was on a prior network?

Last time this happened I upgraded the firmware (it didn't help then). That was only a few weeks ago, I'm guessing it's still current.

This is the message about 192.168.10.10 from the event viewer
"The IP address lease 192.168.10.10 for the Network Card with network address 00A0CC6126E0 has been denied by the DHCP server 192.168.1.1 (The DHCP Server sent a DHCPNACK message). "
That ONLY happens on the Dual Boot OS machine. And if I reset the router it resolves the issue for a few days

It's been a few hours since the original message and the light blinking seems to has slowed way down to what might be considered normal.

It seems to make no sense. It's like there is so much data being bounced around both harware pieces reset.
