Well it's like this, all my computers are connect thru a Linksys router, they all connect to the internet and all of my computer but one can use file and print sharing. The problem is that that computer is my main computer with nearly a 100 gigs of info on it and I can't get any information off it, without burning cds.

I don't think there's any wrong with my nic card or router I have another one of both if I think there's something wrong with any physical compenent. The weird part is that if the computer that doesn't work tries to connect to the network first then that computer can see all the computers on the network, but none of the other computers can see any other computer. But if one other computers connect first all other can see and connect to all the other computers (except the one that can connect) but the computer that can connect doesn't see the network. I think it's a software problem with this system but I really don't want to format the system. Weird huh.

The operating system of the troubled computer_____?

Same workgroup for all of them? Can you do a search for computer by name and find it?

If your running Windows (Which I'm sure you are) then you have to have Microsoft File and Print sharing services installed. If your running XP you have to create an account for the other computer on your XP Box. You must also be in the same work group. Verify connectivity first with a couple Pings, then check the workgroups.

Depending on which box your browsing from sometimes you have to search for the computer by name, like YeOld suggested.

Hope this helps,

All my systems are Windows 2000, all of the other computers can see each other and searching by name doesn't seem to help.
