I just ordered a new computer from dell and was wondering what i needed to hook both computers up to the same cable modem i have atnt broadband for isp.

Well the most optimum way would definately be to buy a Linksys BEFSR41 router. This includes a 4-port switch. To configure, follow these steps:

1.) Plug the cable modem into the router's WAN port.
2.) Plug each of the computers into the switch ports (1, 2, etc.)
3.) Open up Internet Explorer and type in http://192.168.1.1/
4.) If it asks for password, enter "admin".
5.) Click on the 'Advanced' tab.
6.) Click on the 'MAC Address Clone" tab.
7.) Enter your MAC address from your computer's NIC (the one that was hooked up directly to the cable.
8.) Verify that it the connection works.
9.) Go to http://www.linksys.com/ and get the latest firmware for the router.
