ACK ! ! ! Moved farm home...no DSL

This summer, since my house has been under major rennovation, I had my 3 main rigs at the office churning away. Moved back into the 85% complete house last week....brought my dual CPU server and main power/gaming rig home last night, plugged in my DLS modem....that second light for ATM....blinking amber at me.

ARGGGGGHHHH ! ! !

Takes a while for a few back and forth tries with the phone co I'm sure....GRRRRR Could be days.....even worse...WEEKS ! ! !

Needless to say, farm down nearly 50% with those two rigs out.

Just when I was within 40 or so of Lukeman......

Well I have practically all of SNET/SBC involved...from Texas to Missouri to New York to Connecticut! Two linemen called this afternoon to say they'd be onsite today! (usually can't get one in a week) Man, I've never heard "today" coming from support...usually something like "next week".

I was out of town last week (took the laptop) and when I saw a WU finish, I used dialup to sent the WU back, and to get a new one. Not cable... but it works.

WOOHOO! ! ! Back online at the house. Got my 3rd call from the phone company as I was driving home.....WOOHOO!!!

Main rig is up and running, time to build the network, get my Small Business Server reconfigured....and the rest of the network up and running this weekend (gotta terminate the CAT 6 wiring, get a patch panel, etc)

Sounds like you will be having a busy weeend, good luck with the wiring etc. I know from experience that moving a farm around is a lot of work.

YOS, I feel your pain......Life without DSL/CABLE is no life at all. I am sure you will be up and running soon.

I hope the house is coming along, I'm in the process of replanting the whole front yard as soon as we have the crew in to sandblast and restucco in about 2 or 3 weeks.

Oh yeah.....I did add a boxen here and will be in Reno next week and getting my daughters box up to speed with F@H so......
