Is this when you have lets say win 98 and win 2k on the same machine and it gives you the black screen option on which one you want to use.

If so this is my case. I started to load win2k pro on my 98 machine. and let s say i had problems with the install and it didnt fully install.

Is there a way I can get rid of the partial install of win2k???? and stop getting the boot up selection screen???

KEEP FOLDING

@Sid
what using the win 98 bootdisk and typing
sys c: at the DOS prompt and then deleting all the W2K files?

If I'm not mistaken the mbr has been changed to locate the NTLDR file. You need to redirect the mbr back to the 9x system files. Once that is done you can delete the 2k files anyway you want.

A 'sys c:' would only replace a bunch of files that are already on C:
An 'fdisk /mbr' using a 98 startup disk would do as Sid says.

Well I feel pretty damn stupid... Here is the official microsoft documentation on removing NT from a 9x boot system.
