Hey folks.

I have ordered a new Seger 8880 notebook and it should be here in about a week. Here is my question:

will it be able to fold all the time? it won't be hooked up to the net ALL the time, but most of the time it will. What happens if it gets something done and there is no internet connection? Will it just keep rollin until one is found or will it just stop?

Thanks!

I believe that it will just keep trying to send the completed work until the connection becomes available. No harm unless you keep it from the net for a few days or whatever the time limit is for the particular work unit that you were processing...

It seems that many proteins being given out now are harder and take much longer to complete, so I would think as long as you had access to the net everyday or 2, you should be fine...

Load the prog and see how it goes! :D

Fold on! :)

 I have F@H installed here at work and we were on dial-up so basically when It need a new protein, I would dial up and retreive one and then it would 'fold' the protein. After folding the protein my pc would ask to connect to the net and send the results back and grab another. Like Ken said, after your notebook finished folding a protein it would try and send it back. Once you connect to the net with the notebook it will send and retrieve another unit.

Hope this helps,

Fold On!!!! :D
