I know that the majority of the team switched over to Fold some time back, as this is what Stanford recommended as having more useful knowledge to them.
But, it still should be said that the remaining Genomers have held our position of 18th place since most switched! :)
Wicked_Old_Atheists are set to take 18th place in about 32 days.
The good thing about Genome is that the units do not time out so this makes it nice to run on the older, 166 type boxes.
The bad thing is that the info isn't able to be fully utilized unless you are using the Folding 3 version to Genome...
The way that I understand it is that it was too much on Stanford to try and keep on top of 2 totally different programs.
From the processing of completed work to updating, etc.
So Vijay Pande put the Genome aspects into the Folding 3 version, thus having just 1 prog to keep up on...
I haven't heard recently, but I believe that when you download Folding 3, if you want to Fold, you enter team 15, and if you want to Genome, you enter team 334848599...
So, I was wanting to say Thanks! to the Genomers and ask if they are using the Folding 3 version with team 334848599 entered or if they never updated to the new version...
(Please note: Anyone that is currently Folding shouldn't really switch to Genome though, Stanford can utilize Folding info better, but had to appease the uprising when they said Genome was ending...
I don't want to say that your time of processing work units would be wasted as I have no real knowledge of how they are actually using the Genome work, however, I do recall Vijay wanting everyone to Fold...
The only way that I would recommend Genoming would be if you had an old box like a 166 that was doing nothing because the Folding work units were timing out...)
